About Athenyx Robotics
Athenyx Robotics is a technology company founded by former employees of the WZL Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering at RWTH Aachen University. The company is developing a hardware-agnostic Physical AI platform for industrial robotics — with a clear focus on products and scalability.
At its core are scalable skill fine-tuning pipelines that enable robotic capabilities to be developed more quickly from real-world and simulated data and transferred to new applications. A hybrid agent-based control architecture combines flexible AI-based planning with deterministic and robust execution layers for industrial operation. Through integrated edge and cloud infrastructure, insights from ongoing deployments are continuously leveraged — enabling robotic capabilities to be improved and reused across different systems, locations and use cases.
Humanoid Robotics Focus
- Intelligence Stack: Modular stack integrating perception, learning, simulation and decision-making — enabling humanoid robots to perceive environments, assess situations and derive appropriate actions.
- Cross-System Skill Transfer: Platform-based approach designed to make developed capabilities usable across different robotic systems — including industrial, collaborative, mobile and humanoid robotic systems.
- BMW Group Collaboration: Direct cooperation with BMW Group at Plant Landshut to develop technological foundations for humanoid robotics in industrial component manufacturing.
