About Katrin J. Yuan
Katrin J. Yuan is CEO of the Swiss Future Institute, Chair of the AI Future Council, and a leading voice on technology transformation, AI governance and the social impact of automation. She teaches AI at four universities, including ZHAW, and was an Official Delegate and Speaker at WEF 2026.
With a community of 60,000+ followers across platforms, Katrin connects technical AI and robotics capability to the broader questions of what societies actually want to deploy — a perspective that is scarce in a field dominated by product and performance demos. Her work consistently draws on comparisons between Europe, the US and Asia — where robots are already deployed in kitchens, hospitals and industrial halls — and asks what "responsible" deployment looks like at each stage of that scale-up.
Session at Advanced Humanoid Forum 2027
Topic: "Humanoids Between Global Deployment and Responsible AI – A View From Three Continents"
January 20–21, 2027 · Main Stage
The session draws on Katrin's work in Switzerland, her observations in Asia and the US, and her role in the AI Future Council. It examines the gap between "what is technically feasible" and "what is right to deploy" — the central governance question for humanoid robotics as it moves from pilots to scale. She will share concrete examples of AI and robot deployments across Asia and Europe and what they suggest for European industrial adoption.
Why Her Perspective Matters for the Humanoid Robotics Ecosystem
- Governance & Ethics Layer: Humanoid robotics needs more than engineering benchmarks. Katrin brings the AI governance perspective — including from the AI Future Council and WEF 2026 — directly into the conversation.
- Global Comparative View: Very few European speakers have seen robot deployment in Asia (kitchens, malls, factories) at first hand. Her comparison is one of the few grounded, non-anecdotal perspectives available.
- Decision-Maker Network: As CEO of the Swiss Future Institute and Chair of the AI Future Council, she connects the industrial humanoid discussion to policy, universities and international governance bodies.
- Bridges Communities: Her role at the intersection of AI, robotics, education and policy creates a bridge between the engineering community and the broader questions of adoption, trust and long-term impact.
